BLM 'Umbrella Man' window breaker identified.

Turns out it wasn't a Black Lives Matter protester... it was a white
supremacist who wanted to discredit the BLM protests by damaging
storefront windows.

At the start of the protests in Minneapolis, one white man sparked
instant outrage after he was recorded by Javier Morillo smashing the
windows of an AutoZone, part of eventual damage estimated at $100
million in Minneapolis alone.

“Umbrella Man” was confronted by protesters because he stood out like a
sore thumb, dressed in all black, wearing a face mask, and carrying an
umbrella. He was the first to start damaging storefronts and protesters
wondered aloud as they confronted him if he was an agent provocateur
seeking to make the protesters look bad. Turns out, that is exactly what
he was doing.

He has not yet been charged with a crime. According to the Minneapolis
Star Tribune, the man is a member of the Hell’s Angels bike gang and a
smaller white supremacist gang called the Aryan Cowboy Brotherhood.

Note: The suspect has been tentatively identified as 32-year-old
Mitchell Carlson - but the name hasn't been confirmed by police yet.

FPP would have us believe that this one guy provoked every bit of the
chaos, at least in his city. (See his reply to my post.) Knowing FPP,
he's probably saying that ALL of the violence in ALL of the cities was
provoked by this one guy or at least by similar white supremacists in
every other city. Because none of the protesters would even have
CONCEIVED of violence without that example. If it hadn't been for those
nasty white supremacists, not one window would have been broken, not one
item would have been looted from a store, and not one building would
have been burned to the ground!

I mean it HAS to be this way, right? "Progressives" would NEVER commit
violence on their own initiative!

Minneapolis police have identified a suspect whom they believe helped
initiate the riots and destruction in the city following the killing of
George Floyd.
Nowhere did I ever say "this one guy provoked every bit of the chaos..."
Not even close!
That sprang from your diseased mind.

alleged I did.

Where have I done ANY of that, Rhino? Go ahead... I'd love to see your
proof.
I quoted from a Police arson investigator - and even they never came
close to what you allege.
Post by Rhino
"A Minneapolis police arson investigator said the act of vandalism at the AutoZone on E. Lake Street helped spark a chain reaction that led to days of looting and rioting. The store was among dozens of buildings across the city that burned to the ground in the days that followed.
"This was the first fire that set off a string of fires and looting throughout the precinct and the rest of the city," Sgt. Erika Christensen wrote in a search warrant affidavit filed in court this week. "Until the actions of the person your affiant has been calling 'Umbrella Man,' the protests had been relatively peaceful. The actions of this person created an atmosphere of hostility and tension. Your affiant believes that this individual's sole aim was to incite violence."
That was a DIRECT quote from the Police arson investigator. It's an
official police investigator's determination - it isn't mine.

Read the article idiot... because that's EXACTLY what happened.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/07/29/umbrella-man-white-supremacist-minneapolis/

"With an umbrella in his left hand and a hammer in his right, the man in
black lobbed his weapon so nonchalantly into an auto parts shop’s
windows that it surprised many others in Minneapolis marching nearby in
a May 27 protest after George Floyd’s death."

"Soon after the abrupt attack, the mostly calm demonstration near a
police precinct erupted into looting and arson — the first fire in riots
that eventually caused $500 million in damage and left two people dead,
the Associated Press reported."

Fires often happen after a spark. Nobody alleges that it was he only
reason - but this WAS his intent.

"On Tuesday, Minneapolis police identified him as an affiliate of a
white supremacist group that allegedly sought to “incite violence,”
according to a search warrant affidavit filed in the Hennepin County
District Court. The Star Tribune first reported of the warrant."

It's all there in black and white, so to speak.

Of course that's true, but even if the rumor that idiot FPP is spreading
turns out to be true, it's still not an example of "agent provocateur".
He'd have to inspire the property owner or the business owner to react.

Affidavits for search warrants from law enforcement officers aren't
'rumors'.
Said search warrant, granted by a Federal judge, isn't a 'rumor', either.

Let's say the rumor FPP repeated is true. Let's say you personally
believe that the rumor is true.

You're now saying his crime "turned a previously peaceful protest
violent." How did the alleged white supremicist do that? He had organized
peaceful protestors themselves, then turned them violent?

How the hell does an alleged white supremicist have the ability to organize
peaceful protestors, regardless of his ability to turn them violent on
some signal he gives?

That's a truly stupid theory and I can't believe you of all people would
support it.

How did he do that? He committed his own crime. Was he witnessed by
anyone else who later committed an act of violence, looting, or
vandalism? Even if he was witnessed by someone who later committed a
crime, I don't see that "turning" anyone to commit a crime.

It should be noncontroversial that individuals who aren't conspiring to
commit crimes are individually responsible for the crimes they commit
without regard to anyone else's criminal acts.

For leading other people to commit crimes that he wasn't conspiring
with? You're completely ignoring what FPP and Johnston were claiming.

It's entirely possible that he committed a crime. It's just not possible
that the man, alleged to be a white supremicist, "turned" peaceful
protestors violent, people he was not conspiring with, and is therefore

BLM 'Umbrella Man' window breaker identified.
Turns out it wasn't a Black Lives Matter protester... it was a white
supremacist who wanted to discredit the BLM protests by damaging
storefront windows.
Stupid thing to do, as it's been done so many times by black idiots.
Not at all, His actions were quite effective in turning a previously
peaceful protest violent.
Let's say the rumor FPP repeated is true. Let's say you personally
believe that the rumor is true.
You're now saying his crime "turned a previously peaceful protest
violent." How did the alleged white supremicist do that? He had organized
peaceful protestors themselves, then turned them violent?
Does the first rock organize an avalanche?
You're butchering Kosh.
I'm saying the alleged white supremicist had no abillity to lead
otherwise peaceful Black Lives Matters protestors into violence.
I'm saying that the rumor FPP is spreading is so stupid that an
intelligent man such as yourself couldn't possibly believe it.
The cops are investigating the guy in the rumor.
For leading other people to commit crimes that he wasn't conspiring
with? You're completely ignoring what FPP and Johnston were claiming.
It's entirely possible that he committed a crime. It's just not possible
that the man, alleged to be a white supremicist, "turned" peaceful
protestors violent, people he was not conspiring with, and is therefore
responsible for the crimes they would later commit.
I think the rumor aspect -- now verified at least as far as police
attention -- was that the perp in the video was in fact a false-flagging
white supremacist. The contention that he's responsible for the
subsequent violence is an allegation, and probably always will be.

I made up NOTHING.
That's what the police actually said! That isn't a 'rumor'... it comes
directly from the police arson investigator.

"A Minneapolis police arson investigator said the act of vandalism at
the AutoZone on E. Lake Street helped spark a chain reaction that led to
days of looting and rioting. The store was among dozens of buildings
across the city that burned to the ground in the days that followed.

"This was the first fire that set off a string of fires and looting
throughout the precinct and the rest of the city," Sgt. Erika
Christensen wrote in a search warrant affidavit filed in court this
week. "Until the actions of the person your affiant has been calling
'Umbrella Man,' the protests had been relatively peaceful. The actions
of this person created an atmosphere of hostility and tension. Your
affiant believes that this individual's sole aim was to incite violence."

That's a fucking police QUOTE. Our Chi-town Clownboy's assertion that I
made anything up doesn't hold water. As usual.

https://www.startribune.com/police-umbrella-man-was-a-white-supremacist-trying-to-incite-floyd-rioting/571932272/

But does anybody expect anything different from King Kerman?

BLM 'Umbrella Man' window breaker identified.
Turns out it wasn't a Black Lives Matter protester... it
was a white supremacist who wanted to discredit the BLM
protests by damaging storefront windows.
Stupid thing to do, as it's been done so many times by
black idiots.
Not at all, His actions were quite effective in turning a
previously peaceful protest violent.
Let's say the rumor FPP repeated is true. Let's say you personally
believe that the rumor is true.
You're now saying his crime "turned a previously peaceful protest
violent." How did the alleged white supremicist do that? He had
organized peaceful protestors themselves, then turned them violent?
It's just not
possible that the man, alleged to be a white supremicist, "turned"
peaceful protestors violent, people he was not conspiring with, and
is therefore responsible for the crimes they would later commit.
I think the rumor aspect -- now verified at least as far as police
attention -- was that the perp in the video was in fact a false-flagging
white supremacist. The contention that he's responsible for the
subsequent violence is an allegation, and probably always will be.
It doesn't matter how many times you repeat the bullshit, moviePig. It
is still bullshit. For the 27th times, the discussion was about how he
could possibly be responsible for the criminal act of a person he's not
conspiring with.
Okay, but I don't see how to call that a rumor rather than a stance.
And now you've resorted to pure trolling. That's not what "rumor" means
and your need for proprietary word definitions is your usual attempt to
thwart discussion.
What several of us have told you is both a legal position and a moral
position, that people who commit crimes are both criminally and morally
liable without being able to excuse their behavior because they observed
or heard that someone else committed a crime.
That's not a "stance". You never did have an argument, moviePig. For
Because you're trolling, you've chosen to poo-pooh the idea of personal
responsibility in favor of blame shifting.
Okay, could you quote the rumor that FPP spread?
Okay, could you fuck off now? At no point did I address that idiot FPP.
I address the STOOPID you were writing. I don't blame you for not
reading your own crap.

Yes, anyone can read the transcript. The simple question here, though,

answer seems obvious to no one, perhaps including yourself.

Not a rumor. It's a court document that names the man, and the
allegations. And it's authorized by a judge, so they found 'probable
cause'.

The search warrant (for the guy's phone) is wholly based on someone
from Twitter contacting the police and claiming to have “identified” the
Umbrella Man as this biker guy (even though Umbrella Man was wearing
a gas mask…)

The judge essentially signed off on a fishing expedition because social

AND from them comparing the similarities. It wasn't just a tip, Ed. It
was a tip that led to an investigation because the images matched.

Try reading what's written.

"In looking at a driver’s license photo of Carlson and several booking
photos, and comparing them to the photos of the “Umbrella Man,” there is
a striking resemblance in the eye, nose bridge, and brow area. Also, of
note is also a slight variation in CARLON’S left eyebrow that is present
in the photos of “Umbrella Man.” CARLSON is also approximately 6’02”
which also fits with the height of “Umbrella Man” on video and in screen
shots as he walks along breaking out the windows..."

You keep spouting shit like "The search warrant (for the guy's phone) is
wholly based on someone from Twitter contacting the police and claiming
to have “identified” the Umbrella Man as this biker guy"

That just ain't true.

What 'rumor'? There's a police application for a search warrant, for
fuck's sake. And it names him. A judge signed off in it, so there IS
probable cause. What's a rumor?

https://heavy.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Search-Warrant.pdf

"The information was that the person responsible for breaking out the
Auto Zone windows and who was known commonly as “Umbrella Man” is a
MITCHELL WESLEY CARLSON, DOB: 04/25/1988."

"WHEREAS, the application of Erika l Christensen was duly presented and
read by the Court, and being fully advised in the premises. NOW,
THEREFORE, the Court finds that probable cause exists for the issuance
of a search warrant upon the following ground(s):

The property or things above‐described cons tutes evidence which tends
to show a crime has been committed, or tends to show that a particular
person has committed a crime.
The court further finds that probable cause exists to believe that the
above‐described property and thing(s) is or are at the above‐described
premises."

Again, I ask... What fucking rumor?

otherwise peaceful Black Lives Matters protestors into violence.
I'm saying that the rumor FPP is spreading is so stupid that an
intelligent man such as yourself couldn't possibly believe it.
The cops are investigating the guy in the rumor.
You know... I deliberately said they hadn't confirmed his identity.

But once they do, and I'm proven right... how many of these
back-stabbers will come forward and apologize?

Surely, Adam has enough integrity to at least do that, right?

Did anybody say that?

"On Tuesday, Minneapolis police identified him as an affiliate of a
white supremacist group that allegedly sought to “incite violence,”
according to a search warrant affidavit filed in the Hennepin County
District Court. The Star Tribune first reported of the warrant."

The claim is based on the “Umbrella Man” smashing the
windows of the auto parts store in Minneapolis and spray
painting “get yer free shit!” (or something along those lines)
on the wall.

The supposedly up-till-then “perfectly peaceful protest”
at that point magically burst into anarchy, rioting, burning,
looting and attacking random people.

Which gives you an idea of how the Left/Dems perceive Black
people; that they’re essentially retarded children who can be
easily lead around by the nose by one random White guy and
turned into a raging mob at the drop of a hat…

Now, somebody on Twitter says they managed to “identify”
this modern day Pied Piper Of Minneapolis (who was masked
the whole time) and claim it’s this White guy who is in a biker
gang, for which they have absolutely zero evidence.

The cops haven’t even picked up the guy, as the ONLY evidence
they have is someone on Twitter accusing him (and I wouldn’t
be surprised if the accusation comes from a rival biker gang).

Wrong again, Ed. Police have identified him, and have a warrant for his
arrest.
That means they have evidence that a judge has signed off on.

It's not just "just the mayor ordering the cops to “look into it".
Probable cause.
Post by Ed Stasiak
An arrest warrant is a legal authorization from the court to place you under arrest. It may be issued when law enforcement or a grand jury believe (and show) that there is probable cause to think that something illegal has occurred and that you were involved. Arrest warrants are generally based on sworn statements, known as affidavits, of police officers. These affidavits explain the reason why the police officer believes an arrest warrant should be issued. This probable cause can be based on the police officer’s own observation and/or by information provided by witnesses. If the information is provided by witnesses there must be a strong indication that the witness is credible and that they have a strong basis of knowledge for their statements. A judge who reviews an application for an arrest warrant must be persuaded that the totality of the circumstances suggest that the facts are valid and that a warrant should be issued.
That's the reporting... and I haven't even given MY opinion on it yet.

As of yesterday;

https://heavy.com/news/2020/07/mitchell-carlson-umbrella-man/

“Mitchell Carlson is accused in a police search warrant application
of being a Hell’s Angels biker who may be the notorious so-called
“Umbrella Man” authorities believe purposely incited violence in
Minneapolis by breaking windows at an AutoZone store after the
death of George Floyd. He has not been charged with a crime but
is under investigation, the application reveals.

Now it emerges that Minneapolis police believe Carlson might be
the Umbrella Man. Erika Christensen, a Minnesota peace officer,
made the application for a warrant to search premises and property,
including cell phone calls and texts. She was also seeking the cell
phone towers that Carlson’s cell phone was “pinging off of.”

As of two hours ago;

https://www.foxnews.com/us/minneapolis-umbrella-man-autozone-fire-hells-angels-police

“Police identified the 32-year-old suspect through a tip last week.
Minneapolis police spokesman John Elder told the Associated Press
Tuesday he could not confirm the name of the person involved, but
said the investigation remains open and active.”

That's exactly the point all three of us - me, Adam, and you - have been
trying to make but FPP is not listening. He's got a police assertion
that they've figured out who Umbrella Man is which identifies him as
white so by his childish reasoning, he's proved that EVERY bit of
violence happened as a result of this one alleged white supremacist's
actions. If it hadn't been for him, not a single window would have been
broken and no stores would have been looted or burned. ANYWHERE.

The rest of the mob was completely "without agency": they saw a window
being broken so they were swept with an utterly irresistible impulse to
imitate by breaking more windows and then double down by stealing from
the now penetrated stores and then burning them down and even killing
people like David Dorn, the black ex-police captain who was helping a
friend protect his store. No force on Earth or within their hearts could
have stopped them once they'd seen the example of this alleged white
supremacist. This force was so irresistible that it transmitted itself
to all the other cities with peaceful protests and turned all of THEM
into full-blown riots too. THAT's how irresistible the force was!

FPP's "logic" is just flat-out preposterous. No one can possibly take it
seriously except, of course, FPP and his butt-crack sniffers.

excuses for "his side" so he can claimn another "Internet win".

Nope. I don't trust, or use 'social media'. Did you NOT see the word
'police'?

"Minneapolis police have identified a suspect whom they believe helped
initiate the riots and destruction in the city following the killing of
George Floyd.

According to a search warrant filed earlier this week, which was
obtained by CNN affiliate WCCO, the man is associated with the "Aryan

He has not yet been charged with a crime.
The suspect has been tentatively identified
the name hasn't been confirmed by police yet.
So basically they’ve got nothing except someone
on social media claiming this is the guy…
Nope. I don't trust, or use 'social media'. Did you NOT see the word

"Minneapolis police have identified a suspect whom they believe helped
initiate the riots and destruction in the city following the killing of
George Floyd.
According to a search warrant filed earlier this week, which was
obtained by CNN affiliate WCCO, the man is associated with the "Aryan
Cowboys," which the Anti-Defamation League lists as a White supremacist
prison and street gang. The warrant does not label them as a White
supremacist group, but describes them as a "known prison gang out of
Minnesota and Kentucky." On its Facebook page, the group says it does
not care, "about a person's color."
