Here are some wrestling news items for you:
- The go-home Raw for SummerSlam started with Raw Women's Champion Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair taking on Natalya and Trish Stratus. The Queen walked out of the match, but the match ended in a DQ because Natalya didn't release the Sharpshooter on "The Man". Maria Kanellis lost the 24/7 title to Mike Kanellis at the OBGYN offices, but then R-Truth - disguised as a woman - won the title for the 11th time, Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman taunted Seth Rollins, who showed up and got beat up. The OC beat Xavier Woods, Big E and Ricochet in a six-man tag. Roman Reigns almost got hit, and was Samoa Joe to blame? Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross won the WWE Women's tag team titles in a Fatal 4-Way Elimination match, defeating the Kabuki Warriors to capture the belts. The final segment had Dolph Ziggler facing down The Miz and Shawn Michaels on Miz TV. Miz announced he wasn't going to face Ziggler at Slam - and then Goldberg came out and it will be Ziggler who will be next this Sunday. HBK gave "The Showoff" Sweet Chin Music. The show drew 2,473 million viewers, up 152,000 from last week.
- The go-home Smackdown opened with Charlotte getting slapped by Trish Stratus. Goldberg's music played - but it was Ziggler. Rey Mysterio came out, but was attacked by Ziggler, who then beat Ali. Natalya and Ember Moon came to a no-contest. Shane McMahon was a a guest on the KO showl "The Best in the World" and Elias brutally attacked KO. The main event saw The New Day take on The New Daniel Bryan and Rowan. After Rowan flattened The New Day, causing the match to end via DQ, they attacked The New Day. Backstage, Romen Reigns interrogated Buddy Murphy. It was revealed that Rowan had done the attacks on "The Big Dog."
Kofi Kingston and Randy Orton appeared in pretaped segments, and no Hardy Boyz or Rusev. The blue brand got a ratings bump, up 177,000 viewers to 2.088 million.
- Chris Jericho made his memorable Raw debut 20 years ago tonight, confronting the Rock. Raw beat Nitro by four ratings points that night, probably indicating that the Monday Night War was over at that point.
