When do you suppose that kind of increase will happen?? Al Gore doesn't think soon, he bought beachfront property. Even if any of it were true and not do to the decline of the last Ice Age, or ignoring the fact cold kills FAR more people each year compared to heat, do you honestly think the technology today can cope with it better than tech 100 years from now?
They knew about disease communicability hundreds of years before they had vaccines, but bloodletting never cured anyone, did it? The tech to "climateform" the planet does not yet exist and won't for a long time. So, any attempt to mitigate warming is pointless and wasteful.

(LOS ANGELES, CA) -- In a move that critics may cite as his own inconvenient truth, former Vice President Al Gore and his wife, Tipper, have added a house in secluded Montecito, Calif., to their real estate holdings.

The couple spent $8,875,000 on a gated ocean-view villa on 1 1/2 acres with a swimming pool, spa and fountains, according to real estate sources familiar with the deal. The Italian-style house has high ceilings with beams in the public rooms, a family room, a wine cellar, terraces, six fireplaces, five bedrooms and nine bathrooms in more than 6,500 square feet of living space.

LOL - well in fairness you CAN build flood barriers in that game but
(a) they're extremely expensive and (b) any land flooded in the game
STAYS flooded meaning that while you can move your troops there the
land produces nothing. If the flooding hasn't been severe enough that
they're now sea squares.

When climate change raises the oceans in Civ 6 they're now ocean
squares with all that means pro and con.

The smoke from summer forest fires did keep Victorious Union North cooler by reflecting solar rays. We didn't get those oppressive 98F temperatures and 80 percent humidity.

What Canadian forests are expendable for 2022 ??

The premise of your argument is incorrect. Try again.

"Kensi" is a filthy little communist scumbag. Any "climate change"
taking place is due to the forces of nature. Scum like him are seizing
on this as an excuse to push through their asinine ideas for social
change. After more than 50 years of failed doomsday predictions it's
amazing to me that anyone listens to those dirtbags.

I'm against diversity, inclusion, and social justice, and furthermore
believe that Leftists and environmentalists should be rounded up and
eradicated so the rest of us can get on with our lives without their
constant interference.

Any "climate change" taking place is due to the forces of nature. Scum
like him are seizing on this as an excuse to push through their asinine
ideas for social change. After more than 50 years of failed doomsday
predictions it's amazing to me that anyone listens to those dirtbags.

I'm against diversity, inclusion, and social justice, and furthermore
believe that Leftists and environmentalists should be rounded up and
eradicated so the rest of us can get on with our lives without their
constant interference.
Verbose. You could have just written "I'm a Nazi" and said the same
thing in only 10 bytes of bandwidth.

Oh, and to address the first kOok:

https://vacationidea.com/california/los-angeles-elevation.html

"2. Elevation of Los Angeles

...

Meanwhile, the lowest point in Los Angeles is the Pacific Ocean itself,
which is at sea level."

"Noah 2.0" my ass. Oh, and you can also kiss goodbye to Malibu Beach if
Thwaites lets go.

I, on the other hand, have a 50-foot bluff at the end of my street leading
down to the water, so I have 47 feet of cushion from big bad Thwaites. As if
any of us will even be around a thousand or so years from now to worry about
it.
Thwaites could go at any time, and when it does it will be like dominoes
going down. The sea-level rise won't take centuries, it will take weeks,
if that.

Maybe you were thinking of Greenland's ice sheet when you said "a
thousand or so years"? That one will take longer than Thwaites to go, to
be sure, but if and when it does that bluff of yours isn't going to help
you very much. Nor will it protect you from economic collapse, food
shortages, or a flood of refugees, all of which Thwaites is more than
sufficient to cause.

LOL!
(1) Malibu isn't Los Angeles,
Lying as usual. The city or the metro area?

and
(2) Who cares? Those are all 'progressive' leftists in Malibu. Let them soak.

Green insanity. Unsafe marine environments.
Would you rather that real estate end up thirty feet underwater? What do
you think will happen to the property values *then*?
The premise of your argument is incorrect.
Proof, ko0k?
You made the claim, it's up to you to prove it

LOL!

Your article says this calamity can't be stopped even if we reversed 'climat
change' today. (But wouldn't that also be 'climate change'? Because if yo
revers-- oh, never mind.)

And it says this calamity is 600-800 years away. Pardon me if I don't ru
screaming into streets with my hair on fire over this. Or even upend my entir
way of life to mitigate something that's the better part of a millennia away
if at all.

And once again, we come to the hard reality that no matter what economicall
crushing, lifestyle-altering measures we take, it won't make a damn bit o
difference if China and India don't participate, which, despite their P
bluster, they show no indication of doing.

If you buy in a location in which that's likely to happen, then yes, I
am in favor of your property ending up thirty feet under water. Just add
detergent, seamus, and get your filthy sockpuppets washed.
It's going to be interesting to see the effects on coastal mansions of
the rich and influential like the Kennedys, Obama, the Malibu crowd,
etc....
The fact that they're still buying those properties tells you all you
need to know if they really believe the 'climate change' nonsense they
spew.
Wealthy and influential people are always going to be the first
beneficiaries of infrastructure that gets built to mitigate against
ocean damage to their ocean-front properties.

Wind turbines caused negative impacts on property values up to four kilometres away, with these impacts ranging from a four per cent to an eight per cent decrease in property values. The magnitude of the impact increased as the number of wind turbines in close proximity to the property increased.Jan. 7, 2019

Whine, whine. "Waah! I'm better off that 90% of Americans and 99.9% of
other human beings and they want to knock that down to 86%! Whine!"

Check your frigging class privilege. Most of us can't even afford to get
a starter home these days. Besides, what good will not having windmills
spoiling your view do you when your pretty little house and its white
picket fence are sitting at the bottom of the Atlantic?
