Are the various animated aliens being voiced by people from those
species?? If they're all being voiced by humans, then there's gonna be
big trouble from the morons in the "Politically Correct" brigade. ;-)

Star Trek: Lower Decks will follow the story of the support
crew serving on one of Starfleet's least important ships, the
U.S.S. Cerritos, in 2380. Ensigns Mariner, Boimler, Rutherford
and Tendi have to keep up with their duties and their social
lives, often while the ship is being rocked by a multitude of
sci-fi anomalies.

The voice cast will feature Tawny Newsome as Ensign Beckett
Mariner, Jack Quaid as Ensign Brad Boimler, Noel Wells as
Ensign Tendi, Eugene Cordero as Ensign Rutherford, with the
ship's bridge crew voiced by Fred Tatasciore as Lieutenant
Shaxs, Dawnn Lewis as  Captain Carol Freeman, Jerry O'Connell
as Commander Jack Ransom, and Gillian Vigman as Doctor T'Ana.

Star Trek: Lower Decks is created and executive produced by
Mike McMahan (Rick and Morty), who also serves as the
showrunner. It is executive produced by Alex Kurtzman, Heathan
Kadin, Rod Roddenbury, Trevor Roth, Katie Krentz. It is a
production by CBS' Eye Animated Productions, Secret Hideout,
Rodden Entertainment, and Titmouse animation studio.

As far as plots go, is a series like "Upstairs/Downstairs" without the Upstairs the best idea for Star Trek?

I saw some art for it today. It's like somebody's retard kid (I'm looking at
you Greta) held a crayon in their toes.
The art style looks far better than many animated shows these days
(awful garbage like Spongebob Squarepants, Ren & Stimpy, Teen Titans,
Rick & Morty, etc.), although it remains to be seen how well animated
and voiced it is.

Is the voice actor for Ensign Tendi actually green? If not, we have another
case of a pallored actor usurping the place of a woman of color.

I've always asked these idiots what you do when somebody's status changes in
a role? Like if blind can only play blind, who plays a character that loses
or regains their sight? How the Hell do you direct Helen Keller?

And how do you cast someone who loses or gains their sight? Let's say
the plot calls for them to regain their sight. Do they have to be played
by someone who was once blind and then regained their sight? Could they
be played by someone who had their sight but lost it? Or someone who has
always been blind?

In the Dark has a sighted actor pretending to be blind. Clearly, they're
going to have to take some action on this but I'm not sure if they're
just going to blind her retroactively or reshoot the first two seasons
with an actress who is blind in real life and ask everyone to pretend
they never saw the original actress.

Daytime soap operas often use that last option.

Exactly. If she's not voiced by a person of the same "race" and colour,
she's going to have to be a mute character. Hmm. I wonder how many
Andorian actresses there are in the databases used by casting directors?

Hey, wait, has anyone told the actors playing Vulcans that they are
unemployed now and will be replaced by actual Vulcans - as soon as they
can find some? Ethan Peck and others will have real problems getting
work now.

Seth MacFarlane is going to have similar problems with some of his crew
and guest cast. Unless we found a planet Selaya and it has humanoid
actors on it, he's going to have to go back to a human security officer.

And then there is Isaac. Do the new rules require that only robots can
play robots or is it still acceptable for them to be played by humans?

Nope, they must be robots.

The Politically Correct morons will also insist that all these CGI
"actors" can no longer be used. So, for example, the elephant in
live-action "Dumbo" now must be played by a real elephant ... except
the Animal Rights whiners won't allow that, so there goes any more
animal-based stories being made into movies / shows. Of course, humans
are just another animal, so they should also be insisting that humans
can't be used "for entertainment purposes" in movies / TV shows either,
so that means the end of the entire industy!

Then there are audio books ... why the [BEEP] is the male Stephen Fry
allowed to read the words spoken by female Hermione Granger in the
Harry Potter books!!

;-)

Of course, just to further prove the utter hypocrisy of this idotic
"Politically Correct" / "Equality" garbage, switching the ethnicity of
Hermione Granger from caucasian to black is apparently not only fully
okay, but to be hugely celebrated ... do that the other way around and
there would be massive riots in the streets. :-\

On Andromeda, Laura Bertram had no tail, and there was merely one Lexa

I'm outraged.

In between when they were cast in ANDROMEDA and when production actually
began, Lisa Ryder and Alexa Doig were cast in JASON X (Friday the 13th in
Space), but they reversed their Andromeda roles - Instead of Alexa playing
the incredibly attractive robot and Lisa playing the human, Lisa played the
robot and Alexa played the incredibly attractive human.

In a scene reminiscent of Andromeda talking with Harper-Smythe about her
anatomy, Lisa's robot is talking with her mechanic when, whoopsie, in a
sequence only Ian would wish for, her nipples fall off. Here's a GIF:

In first season Andromeda, Andromeda had big American breasts. Alexa
complained to wardrobe, and, as they were built into the suit, they took them
out and claimed nobody noticed.

Oh, we did. We did.

BTW, Sarah Power on GOOD WITCH must be pregnant again, they have her stuffing
muffins in her face at every opportunity, as a plot point.

Is the voice actor for Ensign Tendi actually green? If not, we have
another
case of a pallored actor usurping the place of a woman of color.
On Andromeda, Laura Bertram had no tail, and there was merely one Lexa
Doig playing three personifications of the ship's artificial intelligence.
I'm outraged.
On the other hand, on Jason X, Lisa Ryder's nipples fell off.
I'm whooshed! I'm outraged and I'm whooshed!

And only women who have given birth in reality can play birth mothers,
only people who have adopted can play adoptive parents, unmarried people
play unmarried characters, etc. Any job and life experience the
character has, the actor must have. Basically no acting, the only
"character" anyone is allowed to take the role of is themselves.

Hah. That entirely eliminates most actors, the vast majority of whom had no
real life experience beyond shit jobs like waiting tables that they
rarely showed up for due to auditions.

But are the various animated aliens voiced by people from that actual
species?? There gonna be big trouble if they're being voiced by just
humans. ;-)
From ComingSoon.net ...
CBS All Access sets premiere date for first animated series
-----------------------------------------------------------
CBS All Access has finally announced the premiere date for their
first ever adult-animated series titled Star Trek: Lower Decks
which hails from Solar Opposites co-creator Mike McMahan.
Featuring the voices of Tawny Newsom and Jack Quaid, the first
animated Star Trek comedy series is scheduled to make its debut
on Thursday, August 6. The announcement also came with the
released of a new key art poster which you can check out below!
Star Trek: Lower Decks will follow the story of the support
crew serving on one of Starfleet's least important ships, the
U.S.S. Cerritos,
Is it Apr 1st?
I saw some art for it today. It's like somebody's retard kid (I'm
looking at you Greta) held a crayon in their toes.
The art style looks far better than many animated shows these days
(awful garbage like Spongebob Squarepants, Ren & Stimpy, Teen Titans,
Rick & Morty, etc.), although it remains to be seen how well animated
and voiced it is.
There's a gallery of 8 images (inlcuding the poster from the original
message) at

<snip>

Even if they found an actor of the appropriate race, the "Politically
Correct" morons would then start whining that the animated character
hasn't been drawn by a person of that race.

It's a never-ending, bottomless pit of stupidity. :-(

Heh heh - actually a truly woke critic would argue that the Orion
culture (despite having green skin) was horribly dysfunctional
involving slavery (albeit voluntary and for a fixed term - the Orion
form of slavery was more a long term personal services contract than
the Old South or Roman slavery) and objectified women so it's
probably damned too.

Read the article about the Orions on Memory Alpha if this is
unfamiliar to you.

Are the various animated aliens being voiced by people from those
species?? If they're all being voiced by humans, then there's gonna be
big trouble from the morons in the "Politically Correct" brigade. ;-)

People said exactly the same about having a worse Presidential
candidate than Trump the Chump ... and then Kanye West announced he is
going to be running for the job. :-O
(Although, technically he's not "worse", just equally as abhorrent!)

That at least partly depends on whether it follows *real* "Star Trek"
or JarJar Abrams' abysmal "Star Drek" reboot garbage.

comingsoon.net doesn’t like my ad-blocker. What little I saw indicates that
this show will be really bad. I last cared about an ST series with DS9; I
watched the first few episodes of V’ger and stopped, and watch part way
through the first two episodes of Boobyprize and stopped. Though I will admit
that the reason I got that far was the shower scene showing that Vulcans have
points other than on their ears, but even that was insufficient to sustain
interest. I haven’t even looked at Dicked Over and Pick Nose, I think that
they’re on CBS all access and I’d have to pay to see them, plus ads,
which ain’t gonna happen. Lowered Expectations seems to be on CBS Never
Will Access too. Say bye.

Don't forget Boobyprize which was the worst Trek since Voyager until
DickedOver came along.
