Remind me where Obama was when the attack on the Benghazi consulate went
pear-shaped? By all accounts, he was fast asleep, preparing for a
fund-raiser in LA the next day and couldn't be bothered to do the job he
is actually paid to do himself. So what happened when the shit hit the
fan? Did they actually try to wake him and they told him to F-off? Or
did he have a "do not disturb" sign on his door and no one dared wake him?

Trump, on the other hand, has a large team in FEMA that is all set to do
exactly what they are trained to do and don't need his help/input very
often. And he's only a phone call away if they DO need him.

Do you even read your own links? Nothing on that page explains what Obama
was doing during the attack.

Defense Secretary Panetta admitted in front of Congress that Obama was
basically MIA during the event. They don't know if he was sleeping or not.

https://nypost.com/2013/02/10/nobody-wake-barack/

"Finally, we have the answer, thanks to Defense Secretary Leon Panetta. In
his reluctant Senate testimony, he provided the missing piece of the puzzle:
The commander in chief was MIA. The coverup was created to protect his
absence.

According to Panetta, President Obama checked in with his military team
early on during the attack, then checked out for the rest of the night. The
next day, we already knew, he blamed the video maker and flew to Las Vegas
for a campaign event."

Can you find a fact-check site/cite more authoritative than a columnist
in the N.Y. Post? The best I could Google from "obama sleep benghazi"
was this...

https://www.factcheck.org/2016/04/trump-on-clintons-3-a-m-call/

...which shows only that creative accusations have target-mobility.

Thanks for tracking this down, as we don't want to to spread falsehoods.

This nonsense will never stop, not ever. Trump headlines a rally on a
night like that, and the response is "Benghazi!!!" Fuck, that's
stupid.

Now I see that he's going down there. I hope he brings plenty of paper

I particularly like their latest disaster story, beach town destroyed. Then they show one crappy wooden building that got wiped out. Then you look at the modern buildings in the background and nothing is wrong with them.

'A friend' just posted this video of that beach town:

You're absolutely right, the more modern buildings are much easier to
spot now... though even they have unplanned skylights and entrances...

https://www.express.co.uk/news/world/1029967/hurricane-michael-florida-evacuation-orders-flooding-category-4-donald-trump

"Its rapid intensification as it churned north over the Gulf of Mexico caught many by surprise – and television news footage during the day showed many homes submerged in floodwaters in Mexico Beach, where the fate of about 280 residents who authorities said defied evacuation orders was unknown...
By Wednesday night, more than 403,000 homes and businesses were without electricity in Florida, Georgia and Alabama, utility companies said.

Twenty miles south of Mexico Beach, floodwaters were more than 7-1/2 feet (2.3 meters) deep near Apalachicola, a town of about 2,300 residents, hurricane centre chief Ken Graham said.

Apalachicola Mayor Van Johnson said: “There are so many downed power lines and trees that it's almost impossible to get through the city.”

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) said on Tuesday an estimated 500,000 Florida residents had been ordered or urged to seek higher ground before the storm in 20 counties spanning a 200-mile (320-km) stretch of shoreline."

No, now massive swath of destruction, much like the last one that
turned out to be nothing but a huge rainstorm. Better luck next
time, media global warming whores.
Name ANY Hurricane to have EVER hit the coast with 150 mph winds.
(which is 250 km/h for you Canadians)
RichA is a fucking idiot. This is Mexico Beach FL this morning. Runs
four minutes and a bit:

Yeah, that's actually kind of fun to look at, if you can put your human
sensibilities into video-game holocaust mode. From the apparently low
casualty-rate, I can only imagine Mexico Beach must've been a ghost-town
at landfall...

Yep. Been watching the images on the news, and I didn't see any
damaged houses. in fact, I didn't see any *houses* -- just piles
of rubble...

Idiot.

And why was it the strongest storm ever to hit there? Because the
sea is warmer, giving it more energy. Why ever could that be?

It almost certainly wasn't the strongest storm to ever hit there.

And even if it was, what's so special about that one spot? We've had as
strong or stronger storms come ashore in many other places along the US
coast, so why is it especially significant that it came ashore in that one
spot?

The weather system is chaotic. This storm just happened to line up with a
set of ocean currents and atmospheric pressure gradients that sent it in
the direction of the FL panhandle. It could just as easily have been
directed toward Biloxi or New Orleans or Galveston, all of which have
experienced storms of that magnitude in the past.

And I'm sure you have some peer-reviewed papers that will prove that
out, right?
Because THAT'S the "sciencey" part of Science.

-----
"At the heart of that process is scientific peer review, a
quality-control system that requires all new scientific discoveries,
ideas and implications to be scrutinized and critiqued by expert
scientists before they become widely accepted.

Peer review has been around for nearly 300 years, so it is not new. It
just seems that way sometimes because of the attention it has received
in the wake of the stem cell scandal. Unfortunately, increased awareness
does not always translate into increased understanding.

Many myths and misconceptions about peer review still exist, and many
average citizens don't see how a system of checks and balances is
important either to science or to their day-to-day decision making."
-----

Internet bullshit ain't science any more than Trump is presidential.

You just accused the progs of asserting that there are 82 genders.
I'm asking you to prove that hypothesis, Einstein.

Where is your proof that "progressives" (as you have characterized that

That beachfront community was wrecked because the houses were mostly built like crap. Just beyond that beach very little damage. The Japanese have been building earthquake resistant buildings for 50 years. Galvaston tx puts property on 20ft stilts. But watch; these people will rebuild in the same place and the same thing wil happen again. Even animals arent stupid enough to live in vulnerable areas.
