Some maybe only weeks were lost off their lives. Covid killed the sick or debilitated and because these people would have mostly all died without covid
in five years, you can't really attribute "excess deaths" for covid beyond 10% of
the normal death rate. Contrast this with the 1918 flu which DID kill many healthy people and you see a major difference in the actual excess death rate.
