Vikings trailer sets premiere date for sixth and final season
-------------------------------------------------------------
History Channel has released the official trailer for the sixth
and final season of their hit drama series Vikings, offering us
a preview of the Vikings' incoming epic battle against Russia.
The series returns with a two-hour sixth season premiere on
Wednesday, December 4. Check out the video below!

Trailer: (2mins 49secs)

The 20-episode final season will be divided into two parts with
the remaining ten episodes expected to premiere sometime next
year. Series regular Katheryn Winnick, who portrays the role of
Lagertha, will be making her directorial debut in one of season
six's episodes.

In Season 6, After years of turmoil and tragedy, the series
reaches its biggest climax yet with the Vikings traveling to
never-before-seen locations thousands of miles from Kattegat,
meeting vicious rivals worthy of their strategic combat and
finally facing the consequences of Ragnar's death. The Seer's
visions come to fruition as the final season answers important
life-altering questions while making it clear, the war is far
from over.

Vikings is the critically-acclaimed series from creator and sole
writer Michael Hirst (Academy Award-winning film Elizabeth and
the Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated series The Tudors) and is a
family saga that tells the remarkable tales of the lives and epic
adventures of the raiders and explorers of the Dark Ages. It was
History Channel's first scripted series and has been a ratings
hit for the cable network and received consistently positive
reviews from critics and audiences alike across its five seasons.

Hirst serves as executive producer along with Morgan O'Sullivan
of World 2000 (The Count of Monte Cristo, The Tudors), Sheila
Hockin (The Tudors, The Borgias), John Weber of Take 5
Productions (The Tudors, The Borgias), Sherry Marsh, Alan Gasmer,
and James Flynn (The Tudors, The Borgias). Arturo Interian serves
as the executive in charge of production for HISTORY.

Vikings is an international Irish/Canadian co-production by World
2000 and Take 5 Productions. MGM Television serves as the
worldwide distributor outside of Ireland and Canada. Vikings is
produced in association with Corus Entertainment.

I haven’t gotten around to S05 yet but this show is so stupid, with
the “Russians” (who look like Mongols) invading Scandinavia….

The show has no connection to history and is a straight-up fantasy.

But it's on the "History Channel", so obviously it's a completely true
account documentary. ;-)

It was already getting stupid back when they killed off Ragnar but
afterwards, it just went full-retard.

but that actually happened and they did seek revenge (altho the blood eagle
is doubted by many Historians), and there was a "boneless" leader , although
who he was and how he got his name is debated.

Hey at least they don't have horns on their heads, the biggest fallacy around.
