"The Avengers" wasn't "sci-fi". It was a secret agent series, so some
places do call it "spy-fi", which could cause the confusion if reading
too quickly. Either that or some fool website 'journalist' or idiotic
Assifical (non)Intelligence app is confusing it with the Marvel
"Avengers".

they do often have futuristic vehicles and devices, aliens (Superman
*is* an alien), loads of techno-babble, etc.
