Oh, I forgot one.

Since "but those burning cities aren't 'the seat of our democracy'" is the
excuse they always like to give for why January 6th was sooooo much worse
than months of riots, looting, billions of dollars in damage, and blood,
here you go:

Washington, DC, the seat of our democracy, on fire from leftist 'mostly
peaceful protesters' who didn't like the results of an election:

Loading Image...

However annoying it was, at least Congress spent all day yesterday voting
on a speaker instead of gaslighting America on how Jan 6 was literally
worse than 9/11, Hitler, Pearl Harbor, pancreatic cancer, the eruption of
Mount Vesuvius, shark attacks, and AIDS.

And in his momentous 'January 6th Speech', Biden blamed the death of
Officer Evans, a Capitol Police officer who was killed by a Nation of Islam
supporter in his car on April 2, 2021, on January 6th rioters.

Joe Biden is either a blatant liar or he is mentally ill. There really is
no third option at this point.

No, they managed to do it. They rang a bell like they do on 9-11 every year
(but for whom, I do not know, since the only perosn who died was shot by
capitol police) and Nancy "Stretch" Pelosi lied about how shocked, scared,
and horried she was by the whole thing, ignoring the fact that her daughter
recorded her cheering when it happened and hoping she'd be able to punch out
President trump and the fact that the first thing she did after the riot was
ask security if the Capital cafeteria would be open at their normal hours.

You've obviously forgotten that the Left are on the side of the angels
so that anything THEY do is wonderful....
In 1978, Jimmy Carter commuted the sentence of Andres Figueroa Cordes,
a Puerto Rican Communist who participated in a shoot-up of the well of
the House of Representatives from the visitor’s gallery, on
humanitarian grounds given the man’s terminal cancer diagnosis. The
next year, Carter took the unpardonable step of pardoning Cordes’s
three comrades in that 1954 action that wounded five congressmen.

On the last day of his presidency, Bill Clinton granted a full pardon
to Susan Rosenberg, 16 years into a 58-year sentence for possession of
guns and over 700 pounds of explosives. A member of the Weather
Underground and numerous of its succeeding splinter groups, Rosenberg
allegedly participated in the 1983 bombing of the U.S. Capitol as a
member of something calling itself the Armed Resistance Unit. The
explosion blew off Senate Minority Leader Robert Byrd’s door, ripped
through a painting of Daniel Webster, and damaged the Senate cloak
room.

“We purposely aimed our attack at the institutions of imperialist rule
rather than at individual members of the ruling class,” the Capitol
bombers contended. “We did not choose to kill any of them this time.
But their lives are not sacred.”

This time strikes as the operative phrase. Rosenberg allegedly drove
getaway in the 1981 Brink’s truck robbery in Rockland County, New York,
that resulted in the murders of two cops and a Brink’s guard.
Prosecutors did not pursue charges on the Capitol bombing or the
murders in connection to the expropriation of over $1 million because
it seemed superfluous in light of her lengthy sentence. They did not
count on a future president nullifying justice.

After a pardoned Rosenberg landed a job teaching women’s studies at
Hunter College and later when she raised money for Black Lives Matter,
critics called her a “domestic terrorist” but fact checkers rebutted
the label. “In the absence of a single, universally-agreed definition
of ‘terrorism,’” Snopes.com maintained, “it is a matter of subjective
determination as to whether the actions for which Rosenberg was
convicted and imprisoned — possession of weapons and hundreds of pounds
of explosives — should be described as acts of ‘domestic terrorism.’”

A year after Bill Ayers’s girlfriend and two of his friends blew
themselves up in a Greenwich Village townhouse-turned-bomb-factory, the
University of Michigan radical took part in the 1971 bombing of the
U.S. Capitol. “We’d already bombed the Capitol,” he wrote in his
memoir, “and we’d cased the White House. The Pentagon was leg two of
the trifecta.” Ayers nevertheless resisted the T-word label:
“Terrorists destroy randomly, while our actions bore, we hoped, the
precise stamp of a cut diamond. Terrorists intimidate, while we aimed
only to educate.”

Bill Ayers helped launch Barack Obama’s political career by hosting a
1995 fundraiser for Obama’s state senate candidacy in the home he
shared with fellow former terrorist Bernardine Dohrn. Michelle Obama
scheduled Ayers to speak at a conference she organized, and Obama
occasionally found himself speaking at the same events as Ayers. “A
searing and timely account of the juvenile court system, and the
courageous individuals who rescue hope from despair,” praised Obama of
Ayers’s 1997 book A Kind and Just Parent: Children of the Juvenile
Court in The Chicago Tribune. The future president and past terrorist
served together on the Woods Fund charitable board, and when Obama
found himself on the board of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, the
outfit donated large sums to projects affiliated with his friend. Ayers
donated money to a 2001 Obama political campaign but his greatest
contribution came of the in-kind variety when he played down the
association during Obama’s 2008 presidential run and became harder to
find than he was during his Weather Underground days.

Perhaps that guy sitting in Nancy Pelosi’s chair lands a job at Hunter
College. Possibly the gentleman wearing horns on his head, fur on his
body, and red-white-and-blue face-paint secures massive grants and
laudatory reviews of a book he authors. And maybe that guy who put a
red MAGA hat on the statue of Gerald Ford can escape punishment by
insisting that he aimed to educate, not intimidate. One guesses the
establishment treats them more harshly than the people who bombed the
Capitol or shot congressmen. This does not stem from their offenses
eclipsing those of Ayers, Rosenberg, or the Puerto Rican Communists.
The motivation comes from the cause (a truly idiotic one that stood
zero chance of success and persuaded nobody beyond those who did not
need persuasion) that they served.

From Mitt Romney to Joe Biden, politicians described the riot inside of
their place of work as an “insurrection.” Chuck Schumer went so far as
to call the vandals and thugs “domestic terrorists,” a designation that
eluded participants in the mostly peaceful protests that took place
over the summer. But the Capitol has witnessed far scarier acts by true
“domestic terrorists” in recent American history.

Jeebus, this is stupid. Andres Figueroa Cordes was dying of cancer
when Carter commuted his sentence in December 1978. He went home to PR
and died the following March.

What does Bill Clinton have to do with any of this?

Turns out, nothing. I mistook the incident to which Ubiquitous was
referring.

The incident I was thinking of occurred in 1983. It was a bombing of the
Capitol and assassination attempt of several Republican members of
Congress by Linda Evans (not the star of DYNASTY Linda Evans) and Susan
Rosenberg. They were pardoned by Bill Clinton (D) at the urging of Jerry
Nadler (D). The same Jerry Nadler who, in his role as House Judiciary
chair, has been among the most vocal in Congress in his fury at the
Capitol chaos of January 6 and who outrageously compared it to Pearl
Harbor and 9-11 in terms of its seriousness in American history. Yet
people who actually bombed the Capitol and tried to assassinate members
of Congress, he lobbied to have pardoned.

Friday marked the two-year anniversary of the January 6 riot over the 2020
presidential results. If you were to ask the Democrats, the supposed threat
to our democracy led by “Ultra MAGA Republicans” is still ongoing.

That kind of rhetoric is blatantly untrue and deployed to smear millions of
people who dare go against the Democratic agenda.

Still, there is at least one overlooked continuous threat to American
democracy stemming from that day — one that never seems to capture the
attention of Legacy Media nor the representatives most outspoken about the
Capitol riot.

Over the past 24 months, dozens — if not hundreds — of Americans have been
mistreated by the U.S. judicial legal system, according to attorneys and
concerned citizens. This alleged abuse ranges from “cruel and unusual
punishment” via unnecessary solitary confinement measures, other concerns
over conditions in various jails, and worries over lack of due process.

Since January 6, 2021, more than 950 Americans have been arrested over
actions ranging from parading through the Capitol to more serious charges
relating to assault and other forms of violence. Thanks to the recently
passed omnibus bill, the Department of Justice has the funds to continue the
investigation for the foreseeable future.

That means that inappropriate treatment of fellow Americans will likely
increase as more are wrangled in by authorities.

To be clear, those who abandoned the idea of peaceful protest that day should
be condemned entirely and rightly have been from people across the political
spectrum. Based on mountains of video evidence, it is obvious some went to
the Capitol on January 6 intent on causing mayhem with ill regard for their
fellow citizens. Regardless, justice must be served through the legal system.

Still, according to testimony and footage, others charged with crimes wrongly
believed they were welcomed into the building.

In the case of a man named Matthew Martin, for example, U.S. District Judge
Trevor McFadden acquitted him of four charges after the judge concluded that
Martin felt he was allowed in because U.S. Capitol police let him into the
building.

During the trial, which Martin agreed to hold without a jury, McFadden
concluded that the New Mexico man’s defense was “largely credible” and it
wasn’t unreasonable for him to believe that police officers let him and
dozens more into the Rotunda as they stood by. McFadden added that his
actions that day were “about as minimal and non-serious” as they got.

So far, Martin has been the only person acquitted.

How is it that nearly 1,000 individuals have been charged — yet only one man
has been found innocent?

Then there’s the so-called face of the “insurrection” — the so-called “QAnon
shaman,” Jacob Chansley.

Chansley was not accused of attacking anyone that day, according to CNN. Yet
for some reason, the U.S. government held him in jail pre-trial because of
potential “future violence.”

For more than 300 days, Chansley languished in solitary confinement,
according to reporter Julie Kelly.

“He is a man with mental health vulnerability who has, for eight months, been
in what any doctor is the worst thing you can possibly have done to you if
you have a personality disorder, which is be placed in solitary confinement,”
his defense attorney Al Watkins argued at one point during his trial.

Chansley was ultimately sentenced to 41 months in prison for his role on
January 6.

According to Kelly, who has investigated January 6 thoroughly, hundreds of
Americans are still being held in jail.

The feds’ rationale is that, according to Kelly in one column, “the events of
January 6 were uniquely horrific and anyone who participated poses a threat
to the country.”

Yet it should be noted that more than 200 individuals who allegedly caused
similar mayhem during former President Donald J. Trump’s day in 2017 had a
very different experience with the U.S. government. They had their charges
dropped entirely.

What did that day look like? Here’s a brief recap:

Footage from DC on the day of Trump's inauguration.

For those who think that only Right-leaning pundits are concerned about the
rights of these men and women in jail, readers should remember that in April
2021, even Senators Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Dick Durbin (D-IL) spoke out
against the treatment of some of those arrested.

“Solitary confinement is a form of punishment that is cruel and
psychologically damaging,” Warren said at the time. “And we’re talking about
people who haven’t been convicted of anything yet.”

If those statements helped change things, it isn’t very clear to what extent.
For example, a January 6 arrestee named Edward Jacob Lang was taken by
authorities to a D.C. jail on January 16, 2021.

In January 2022, Lang told The Daily Wire that he had “spent 200 days in
solitary confinement, with 23 hours a day alone in a cell.”

After that interview, Lang was transferred to a jail in Alexandria, Virginia,
where he faced similar treatment.

In June 2022, Lang told The Washington Times that he had spent 70 days in
solitary confinement for 23 hours per day in an Alexandria, Virginia jail.

“I have been informed by Chief [Deputy Sherriff Shelbert] Williams that
because of my political affiliations, I have to remain in solitary
confinement,” Lang alleged in one letter to the DOJ.

It should be noted that Lang has been accused of some of the worst violence
from January.

Yet just because he may be accused of egregious behavior does not mean he
shouldn’t be afforded his rights.

Neither should any of the other 949 — and counting — January 6 suspects.

Where’s the outrage from our elected leaders?

X-Subject: More Proof That Nancy Pelosi Was More Responsible for J6 Riot Than Trump
Post by BTR1701
Footage from DC on the day of Trump's inauguration.
This happened all around the country. For four years.
Remember this when Joe Biden calls his fellow citizens terrorists today.
https://twitter.com/mazemoore/status/1565487030100000768
A little-noticed bill passed before Christmas shows that the U.S. Senate
knows Nancy Pelosi had more to do with the U.S. Capitol breach on January 6,
2021, than anything President Trump did that day. Indeed, Nancy Pelosi could
be crowned Queen of the Mob, since her actions led to the crashing of the
perimeter fences, general dysfunction, and deaths of Trump supporters that
day.

Even after the one-sided January 6 Committee left Pelosi's role on the
cutting room floor, there's one inescapable conclusion: If she'd done her
job, there would have been no riot, no deaths of Trump supporters, no show
trials, and no political prisoners sitting in solitary confinement in a D.C.
gulag for two years awaiting trial. And there would have been no need for
federal agents to "orchestrate" a riot.

Pelosi was more responsible for the marauding mob at the Capitol that day
than anything President Trump did to "incite" his huge crowd of supporters --
which he provably did not.

And here's how we know this.

On Monday night, December 12, senators unanimously passed a measure to remove
authority for calling out the National Guard from politicians like Nancy
Pelosi and gave it over to the Capitol Police.

Despite heightened threat assessments by federal authorities showing problems
ahead of January 6, 2021, and the Trump Administration offering National
Guard help, the people who were supposed call out the Guard, the speaker and
D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, wanted no Guard on scene due to optics. Bowser had
battled with Trump over National Guard presence during the BLM/Antifa riots
in the past and didn't want the militarized look in D.C. If she needed them
at all for January 6, she decided the Guard would be unarmed and relegated to
traffic control.

Pelosi's office "was heavily involved in planning and decision-making before
and during the events of Jan. 6, 2021, and micromanaged the Sergeant at
Arms," according to texts and other communications that came to light after
January 6.

From early December 2020, Pelosi aides attended regular meetings with
Irving and Sund to discuss the security plan. So hands-on was Pelosi's
chief of staff Terri McCullough that, at one point, she was editing
details of parking, event timing and "language regarding official
business visitors" for the Joint Session.

The Pelosi team's messages and posts were exposed in an investigative report
by the same House Republicans Pelosi removed from the J6 Committee. The
messages show how Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund begged Pelosi and the
Sergeant at Arms to plus-up security. His request for help was only satisfied
after the riot fizzled out.

The New York Post reported that the GOP investigation showed that "House
Sergeant at Arms Paul Irving, who answered to Pelosi as one of three voting
members of the Capitol Police Board, 'succumbed to political pressures from
the Office of Speaker Pelosi and House Democrat leadership,' was compromised
by politics and did not adequately prepare for violence at the Capitol."

The House and Senate sergeant at arms and Capitol Police Chief Sund resigned
their jobs after the disaster, which could have been prevented.

But in a move the same week, the Democrat-run Senate tacitly affirmed that
Nancy Pelosi royally screwed up by failing to take Trump up on his offer of
using the Guard and preventing what the J6 Cassandras said was worse than the
Civil War or the 9/11 attacks. How incredibly insulting.

Of course, after the unrest, neither woman was held accountable for failing
to act. And the aftermath of the breach was more politicized than anything
we've seen since the FBI and Hillary Clinton worked with actual Russian spies
to create a fiction that Trump was a Russian secret agent.

Efforts to smear the outspoken Trump lived on in the outrageously one-sided
January 6 Committee proceedings and continue to this day.

After kicking off Republicans from the January 6 Committee, unprecedented in
the history of our country, Pelosi also struck a deal with her hand-selected
gaslighters to not be a subject of the probe. Her fingerprints were to be
wiped from the proceedings.

But if you know where to look you can see them.

Top House Democrats won’t say for certain if they will certify the
results of the 2024 presidential election if former President Donald
Trump beats Vice President Kamala Harris, according to a new report.

Some of these members, including those who objected to Trump electors
in 2017, signaled to Axios that Trump may cause issues with the vote
that would give them pause.

Democrats would certify a Trump victory “assuming everything goes the
way we expect it to,” said Jim McGovern (D-MA), the ranking member of
the Rules Committee.

“We have to see how it all happens,” McGovern said. “My expectation is
that we would.”

Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), a senior House Democratic chief deputy
whip, told the outlet that she did not know what kind of “shenanigans”
Trump is planning.

“We would have to, in any election … make sure that all the rules have
been followed,” she said.

Oversight Committee ranking member Jamie Raskin (D-MD), who served on
the former January 6 panel, suggested Trump may resort to
“manipulating” counts in some states.

Trump “is doing whatever he can to try to interfere with the process,”
Raskin said, adding he “definitely” does not assume a victory by the
former president would be legitimate.

He insisted: “Democrats don’t engage in election fraud and election
fabrication.”

There are also Republicans, including Trump and House Speaker Mike
Johnson (R-LA), who have said they would accept the results of the 2024
election if the contest is “fair” and “honest.”

But Harris and her allies have made a big deal about casting Trump as a
“threat” to democracy after some GOP opposition to the last election’s
results and the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021.

That at least a handful of Democrats might now lean back into a long
tradition of lawmakers trying — in vain — to object to Electoral
College votes prompted some ridicule from the Right on social media.

“It’s (D)ifferent,” quipped the popular Comfortably Smug account on X.
Mike Davis, a former Senate staffer who now leads the Article III
Project, blared, “‘Insurrection!'”

Axios noted that House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) signaled
during a September press conference that he would use his influence to
dissuade an organized effort against certification.

“House Democrats are going to do everything necessary to … ensure that
the winner of the presidential election is certified on January 6th
without drama or consequences,” he said.

After her earlier comments, Schakowsky said in a statement she was
“proud to … join all my Democratic colleagues in certifying the 2020
election” and looks forward to “doing the same in January 2025.”

You misspelled 'past'. Modern procedures have made large-scale voter
fraud essentially impossible. Accordingly, today's practitioners
instead tend to favor the baseless de-certification of elections.

Strange he put it that way - surely for a Democrat the response would
be "That's not a situation we expect to see" and when questioned say
"If Trump wins of course we would certify" thereby giving themselves
the weasal words "if Trump wins" since if it's super close the correct
answer would amount to "we're not sure yet"

How can one assume that given the elections are being run by 50

It's ok if it takes awhile to tally the results - look at Dubya's 2000
campaign in Florida

I live in a town whose last school board election was decided by ONE
vote - you think they didn't tally the results extra carefully when it
was that close (or that legally when it's under a 1/2 % margin of
victory they're legally obliged to do a recount?)
