An event rarely caught on video: the birth of a brand new Canadidian.

First, they drill a hole in the ice, then lower down some Tim Horton's and
some poutine with maple syrup, and then five days later a new Canadidian
emerges from the ice. It's amazing sight.

As someone conceived in the USA (my parents lived in the Bay Area 9
months before my birth) but born and raised in Canada though with
frequent cross-border trips to see my grandparents in Whatcom Co.
Washington (which is the border county directly south of Vancouver,
BC) forgive me for thinking Canadian births are any different from the
US variety.

Certainly my American cousin's granddaughter (born this week with a
baby picture on Facebook) bears a family resembly to mine.

(I'm in a tizzy this week as I bought my granddaughter's Christmas
present early and now can't find it.....)
