John Kerry prays to science that democrats win in November so they can
'adjust' the 1st Amendment and get the country back to thinking like it's told
to.

KERRY: "Our 1st Amendment stands as a major block to the ability to be able to
hammer [disinformation] out of existence. What we need is to win the right to
govern by hopefully winning enough votes that you’re free to be able to
implement change."

There's a very narrow way to interpret Kerry's statement as not a desire to
overturn or disregard the 1st Amendment, but given that his party has been
routinely trying to censor Americans for the last three years, I'm unwilling
to bend over backwards to interpret his words charitably.

What John Kerry has never understood about our system is that people like him
don't govern the public, they serve the public.

What the First Amendment means to me (and I believe Patrick Henry) is that
the speaker is responsible for his speech and the author is responsible
for what he's written, no one else. To the extent that what he's said or
written is true or false shall be countered by what others will say or
write, not censorship, never censorship.

I'm not going to interpret Kerry's remarks quite so harshly, that winning
the presidency means that the government will restrict speech/publishing
to fight disinformation.

I'm a little more concerned than you are about his final remarks, about
democracies being in trouble because public opinion doesn't turn on a
dime as things change. In most cases that's a good thing.

More importantly, let’s not forget that he’s a liar a fraud a coward, and a
traitor. He needs to be arrested, tried and convicted of treason and put to
death and I for one volunteer to push the button

Let me guess, Kerry has fully endorsed the imprisoning of thousands
of Britons for the "crime" of saying they oppose immigration? Isn't
that what Kerry and Co. want for the USA?

So you disagree with the part where he says social media makes it hard
to build consensus on any issue, or did you just skip that part because
it was so accurate and you're lack of testicles precluded you from
addressing it?

Hint: I fully expect your lack of BALLS to preclude you from addressing
this cogently, too.

Why he and Jane Fonda weren't tried for treason and shot is a huge mystery.

It’s not too late! Don’t let Hanoi Jane escape death by dying!
Pubie, being an anonyshit, has no balls by definition but if he did he
could kill these "enemies" himself. Then he could be just like Kyle
Shittenhouse.

Governing *is* serving the public. But Kerry does seem tone-deaf, not
realizing that calling the 1st Amendment a major block sounds alarms.
It's both a block and protection. The question is what sort of change
is he looking for and how would it impact the protections that the 1st
amendment provides everyone.

There clearly are ways to work with the 1st amendment even if you
can't block disinformation as with Twitter now have the community
notices attached to some posts if they include disinformation (as in
provably false facts.) Though that only seems to show up for the
original post and not any replies that may include the same
misinformation.

Blocking the government from regulating and punishing speech is a
feature, not a bug. Something elites like Kerry don't approve of.

So long as those features are freely implemented by the companies
themselves and not mandated or coerced into existence by the government,
that's fine.

I've never grasped the logic behind punishing media companies for their
user-posted content ...though I'm all in favor of liabilities for the
posters themselves. (And maybe anonymous content should be displayed in
some unmistakable shade of hot pink...)
