Permalinkafter he opted to perform at one of President Donald Trumps second inaugural
events during the talk shows Tuesday broadcast.
Navarro, who self-identifies as a Republican despite showing unwavering
support for former President Joe Biden and even hosting one night of the 2024
Democratic National Convention, named rapper Snoop Dogg specifically and
suggested that because he had said different things about Trump in 2017, he
was a hypocrite for changing his position some time in the last eight years.

The thing that really, I think, was spotlighting Snoop is because of the
things that Snoop Dogg said ten days before the inaugural in 2017, Navarro
began. And so look, if you opposed and stood up against Trump in 2017, but
you were there now if you spoke up against Trump January 7th, 2021, but you
were there now, applauding him like a trained seal Donald Trump has not
changed, youve changed.
Cohost Alyssa Farah Griffin pointed out the fact that former President Barack
Obama had attended the inauguration although former First Lady Michelle
Obama did not along with former Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush
and former First Ladies Hillary Clinton and Laura Bush. She argued that
attacking the artists, who could simply want to be a part of such a
celebrated American tradition regardless of their personal politics, was
unfair especially when politicians from both parties were in attendance.
As Navarro noted, Snoop Dogg has said critical things about Trump in the past
but after Trump commuted the sentence of Death Row Records founder Michael
Harry-O Harris in January of 2021, the rapper appears to have changed his
tune.
He has done only great things for me. He pardoned Michael Harris. So, I have
nothing but love and respect for Donald Trump, he said in January of 2024.
