Thanks a lot ABC..

So jay is pregnant with their 4th child and the show's over..terrible
thing to do to a show that's been on the air for 5 years.

I hope another network picks it up, but I doubt that'll happen.

Is that it, she's pregnant? That doesn't sound like a cliffhanger that
desperately needs to be resolved. But I agree that ABC really
mistreated the show. Something that runs for this long deserves the
courtesy of knowing that it may get cancelled. Instead it was
apparently a shock to everyone. It also seems very unappreciative
since "Kids" was their first solid hit back when the network was
reeling.

Well UPN and the WB have both picked up two similar shows in the past
but the license fee may be prohibitive.

The show was a hit for the first few years and then the numbers kind of
went soft. There's enough episodes to put the show in syndication (which
I personally think will become another 'Martin' and 'Living Single' in
syndication... meaning, a big bomb, so expect USA Network to pick it up
exclusively in a few years and air it Weeknights at 11PM Eastern), so
why put good money into bad and keep the show on the air? And George
Lopez will bow out next May.

I find it interesting that ABC's very own promos and I think even airing
today touted the "season finale" instead of "series finale". Yeah, they
should have probably gotten a last episode but look at 'The Jeffersons'
at the end of its run: A show way more popular than "Kids" in terms of
ratings and fanbase and it was cancelled w/out a last episode. I'd call
that unfair. But in the case of "Kids", I'd call it a quirk when it
comes to do network television.

"Surrpise! You've been cancelled!"
